COMMERCIAL SOLAR
Commercial solar feasibility.
A site-first answer on usable area, roof life, structure, power, utility rules, and project economics.
ANSWER BEFORE DESIGN
Find the project-killers before buying engineering
A useful solar feasibility study answers a simple question: can this site support a safe project that works financially and operationally? The screen checks usable roof, parking, or ground area; shade and orientation; roof age and drainage; structural capacity; electrical service; utility interconnection; and the building's load shape.
The study ends with choices, not a sales drawing. It identifies the viable array locations, the risks that need deeper engineering, and whether direct ownership or a solar PPA deserves a full proposal.
SITE SCREEN
What the feasibility review checks
- Twelve months of electric use and demand
- Usable roof, parking, and ground area
- Roof age, warranty, drainage, and planned replacement
- Structural loading and equipment access
- Electrical service, switchgear, and interconnection path
- Local permits, utility rules, and operating constraints

ROOF TIMING
Match solar life to roof life
A strong array on a roof near replacement creates avoidable removal and reinstall work. The feasibility study brings the roofer, structural review, drainage, attachment method, and warranty terms into the decision before the layout is locked. Rooftop solar should protect the roof plan, not compete with it.
UTILITY PATH
Interconnection can change the design
The utility studies how the system connects and what protection or equipment changes are required. That process can affect size, schedule, and cost. We screen the likely path early and keep unsupported incentive or approval assumptions out of the financial model.
QUESTIONS
Straight answers.
Is a feasibility study the same as a solar quote?
No. A quote prices a proposed system. Feasibility decides what system, if any, the site can support before detailed design.
Does the study include a structural review?
It includes an initial structural screen and identifies where stamped engineering is required before construction.
Can you compare the roof and parking lot?
Yes. Rooftop and carport options can be compared by usable area, construction impact, risk, and economics.
